The Primaries
Dear Mr. Neutral,
You've never cared about color. Season after season, you've sucked the
pigment from our clothing, leaving our closets dreary, drab and down right
depressed. We're bored to tears with your tired palette of grey, beige
and taupe. If it were up to you, our wardrobes would be completely white!
What's the matter Mr. Neutral? Scared of a little color? Would it hurt
you to add a brighter hue? Afraid they'll drown you out?
Well, we've got news for your Mr. Neutral. Fashionistas have spoken and it's time for something new! The Primaries are here - primary colors that is, and we took a vote. They're in, and you're out!
Signed,
"Ready for a Change"
This spring, primary colors are gaining momentum on runways around the globe, but red, yellow and blue (aka The Big Three) are making the biggest comeback with designers, boutiques and department stores! For the first time in years these three primary colors are prominent in just about every designers collection for this season, and are therefore my first must have for spring! How should you wear the primaries this season? I thought you'd never ask!
Aquatalia
Boot by Marvin K. Haley - With a rain boot like this, you'll
be praying for April Showers! Pair these hot yellow patent leather babies
with everything from tunics and leggings to a mod mini dress, and you'll
be the talk of the town!
Betsy
Johnson Bangle Watch - If rain boots don't float your boat, try
this bold yellow resin bangle, disguised as a watch! The crystal center
flips open to a white glossy dial with yellow arabic numerals. Telling
time never looked so good!
Birdseye
Pleated Scarf - Wrap your neck in something bright this spring.
Worn with a tank or layered with a safari styled jacket, this soft woven
scarf from Urban Outfitter will keep you warm during the transitional
months and stylish too!
The
Little Blue Dress - Wanna stand out in a sea of black? Replace
your little black dress with this little blue number! Keep your accessories
to a minimum, sport a simple shoe and your dress will speak for itself!
Christian
Louboutin "Delic" Shoe - This "Blue Suede Shoe"
would make Elvis proud! If you're looking for a sexy way to incorporate
blue into your spring wardrobe, a Christian Louboutin platform pump is
a sure thing! Rock these with a grey pencil skirt and a crisp white shirt,
and really give em' the blues!
Red
Three Season Trench by eDressMe - Trench coats are a staple every
season, but in red, this belted beauty is a must have this spring. It's
flattering on every figure, and versatile enough to wear throughout the
year! Belt it over a fitted tank and your favorite pair of jeans for a
city chic look, or toss it on with a great pair of heels and bring your
outerwear inside! Every woman should have one in her wardrobe!
Double
Wide Red Patent Belt - When it comes to sizes, the words "double
wide" aren't usually something we ladies want to hear. But in the
case of this red sash belt by "Elegantly Waisted," the wider
the better! If you have a "waist management" issue, a wide belt
is the perfect way to camouflage your waistline, or create the illusion
of one. In red, it's both functional and fashionable!
Textured
Envelope Clutch - Are you still color shy? Ok, let’s take
it nice and slow. Ease into one of the seasons hottest hues with this
red patent envelope clutch by Catherine Rapetti. A little splash of color
goes along way!
Primary colors are the perfect backdrop for your spring wardrobe! Add “The Big Three” (red, blue & yellow) to your closet and show those Neutrals whose boss!
Till next time,
Keep Stylin’.
