SIRIUS XM's The Power and P.O.T.U.S. channels scheduled to carry First Lady Michelle Obama's speech from convention

SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) today announced that it will broadcast live from the NAACP National Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, bringing listeners inside this historic gathering and interviewing notable guests and seminal figures from the African-American community.

The Power (XM 169/SIRIUS Internet Radio 820) and P.O.T.U.S., SIRIUS XM's non-partisan channel dedicated to "The Politics of the United States" (SIRIUS 110/XM 130) are scheduled to carry First Lady Michelle Obama's speech in its entirety from this year's event marking the NAACP's 101st anniversary as an organization dedicated to pursuing civil rights.

SIRIUS XM host Mark Thompson will host his daily show Make it Plain live July 12-15 from the convention, interviewing political and community leaders and taking calls from listeners across the country to explore the day's speeches, events and happenings. On July 15, Thompson will host a special youth forum on his show featuring representatives from the NAACP Youth & College Division, exploring topics such as future of the NAACP and youth perspectives on public policy. In addition, NAACP officials will make a special announcement on Make it Plain about an upcoming March on Washington, DC.

Make it Plain airs Monday – Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm ET on SIRIUS Left channel 146 and from 6:00 – 8:00 pm ET on America Left XM channel 167. On the show Thompson speaks passionately about political, social and economic issues. Thompson is nationally known for his work with the NAACP as founder of the NAACP Metropolitan Police and Criminal Justice Review Task Force for the DC Branch, emcee of the Million Man March, and founder of the Umoja Party. He is an ordained minister.

SIRIUS XM's Joe Madison will cover the convention throughout the week from Washington, D.C. on his live, daily show with guests including NAACP President Ben Jealous and incoming NAACP President Roslyn Brock. Joining Madison in advance of his appearance at the convention will be actor Lou Gossett, Jr., to discuss how black producers control filming and distribution of movies about historically black heroes.

Madison's show airs live Monday – Friday from 6:00 am – 10:00 am ET on The Power, XM channel 169/SIR 820. Madison is recognized as a human and civil rights activist, abolitionist against slavery in Southern Sudan, television commentator, columnist, lecturer, labor and corporate spokesman, musician, and athlete.
