Author, Activist, Lecturer and Popular Blogger Yolanda Young will be a featured keynote speaker at the Seventh Annual National Black Pre-Law Conference 2011 at the Hilton - University of Houston Hotel and Conference Center.

The National Black Pre-Law Conference and Law Fair, the nation’s premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event for aspiring Black lawyers, is proud to host its seventh annual event this year with the ongoing theme of “Encouraging excellence, strategic planning, and a competitive mindset among African American law school aspirants.”   This event is the only comprehensive educational conference in the country focused on specifically reaching out to Black pre-law students in order to equip them with the key “insider” information, resources, and contacts they need to succeed in the highly competitive law school admissions process, in law school, and in the tough professional world.  It also aims to showcase outstanding African American lawyers who have not only achieved success, but are also making special contributions to the community who can serve as role models to attendees converging from all over the nation.

In keeping with this goal, the conference is excited to welcome author, activist, lecturer, and popular blogger Yolanda Young as one of this year’s featured keynote speakers.  Attorney Young is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and the author of the award- winning memoir On Our Way to Beautiful (Random House).  Her latest book is Thurgood's Legacy:  Black Lawyers Reflect on Life, Law School and the Legal Profession.  The activist and lecturer is a frequent contributor to USA Today and the founder & editor of the popular legal blog: On Being A Black Lawyer (OBABL) www.OnBeingABlackLawyer.com. She is often called upon to offer legal, political, and social analysis for Fox5 and NPR.  She has been invited to speak at Harvard Law School, The Building A Better Legal Profession at Stanford Law School, and several National Black Law Student Association conferences.

Hear a thought-provoking message from Attorney Young at this year’s conference, which will be held from Thursday, November 17, 2011 until Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Hilton - University of Houston Hotel and Conference Center in Houston, Texas. Tickets are now available for this groundbreaking “must attend” pipeline event.  A limited number of regular (free), deluxe, and premium registrations are now available.

For more information regarding the event, please visit the official conference website at www.BlackPreLawConference.com. You may also call 281-247-4026 or send an e-mail to blackprelawconference@gmail.com.  Register online athttp://blackprelawconference2011.eventbrite.com/.
